At the most thrilling match of ongoing Asia Cup 2012 Pakistan vs. India played in Bangladesh on 18^th March, we have seen Bollywood presence there. Akshay Kumar was there to promote Micromax Mobiles (as he is a brand ambassador of the company). Sajid Khan was there with his team of Housefull 2 consisting Asin and Zarine Khan. Akshay’s role was to promote Micromax and Housefull 2 (as he is the cast member of the film). Apart from these celebs, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor too came for the promotion of their upcoming film ‘Agent Vinod’.

Saif shared the dias with two of the ex-cricketers from either sides of the border – Waqar Younis and Mahesh Manjrekar.  At the event, Saif said that Agent Vinod was not that the routine run of the mill flick which thumps Pakistan but it shows both the countries on the same side of fighting for the common threat to humanity.

Kareena too shared her views about the game and the film. She said that since Saif belonged to the cricketing family he always shred with him the details of the cricket and the legends of the game. She uttered that meeting with the cricketing legends was a great experience.

About film, she expressed that it was really good that in Agent Vinod both India and Pakistan were on the same side. It was nice and a great thing. She told that her role in the movie was much intense and interesting and she said that she was pretty hopeful that the masses would find it interesting.  In Agent Vinod, Saif plays an Indian Agent and Kareena enacts a Pakistani agent on and SOS mission.

Ekta Kapoor’s production and Milan Luthria’s directed superhit saga of Silk Smitha, the south sexy siren of the 80s who ruled the scene with her endless sex appeal in the heydays, The Dirty Picture has been making bigger waves all over the world churning out bigger collections everywhere. But where it was released in the major international markets, the film lost its another big market in the region ‘Pakistan’ due to the Pakistani censor board’s policy of the sex content.

But the makers now found a sigh of relief since Pakistan has now given the green signal to The Dirty Picture. The movie has now been released in Pakistan. The Hindi movie buffs, which are in endless amount in the country, have got happier and the long queues would wait at the box office now.

The trade pundits say that The Dirty Picture will get good collections and response from Pakistan. Pakistan is considered to be the biggest hub for Bollywood in the region and previously when the Hindi movies were banned in the country for around 40 years or so, there was a big loss for the Bollywood market. But since both the countries speak one language and share the same traditions, finally the Pakistani government had to say ‘yes’ to Bollywood films few years back with the efforts of the Bollywood and Pakistani film industries. Now almost every big Hindi film releases in Pakistan and gets good business.

Well, the next week’s collections will bring the box office results of Pakistan.
