Movie: Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge

Producer: Ashish Patil
Director: Nupur Ashtana
Cast: Saqib Saleem, Nishant Dahiya, Saba Azad and Tara D'Souza
Music: Raghu Dixit
Comedy genre is what has been in use since quite long time in Bollywood though since the inception of the Hindi cinema, comedy flicks have been rolling on the celluloid but the quantity was not that much which exists in today’s Bollywood scene. As the comic capers are loved to be watched and generates mammoth business at the box offices, every other filmmaker is after this genre to churn out the flick on!
The subject of youth too grabs much attention in Hindi film industry and the same has been used in this comic-romantic outing, ‘Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge’. This ongoing year 2011 has so far witnessed a number of flicks on youth.
MFK lets the viewer find the intelligent writing and see the young stars who grab the cinegoers till the end reels.
Most of the romantic movies appear to be conventional and hackneyed. The interesting ones are watched when the script and execution is luminous otherwise if the flick lacks punch, power and script – then even the humor quotient too cannot do anything to lure the audiences.
Nupur Ashtana’s directed venture, ‘Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge’ appeals to a good extent. The film is set against the background of Facebook (social networking site).
Rahul (Nishant Dahiya) is the rockstar and has the voice and looks. Vishal (Saqib Saleem) is the writer and is laced with good brains. Malvika (Tara D'Souza) is the student of fashion designing and has the potential to get the head turn with her looks. Preity (Saba Azad) happens to be a photographer who can utter a million things with her gorgeous pictures.
To like someone on the social networking site Facebook is quite easy and when you are not able to make it on your own, the brilliant idea to do is to falsify it. Following it, Vishal becomes Rahul and Preity turns Malvika by taking their identities online and begin with fraaandshipping each other. Now the question hits the mind, as to how long one can falsify true love? Little do they all know the fact that the person they hate the most in actual life is the one they have lost their hearts to.
Nupur Asthana does the execution brilliantly. Although the film turns predictable at some points but what binds the viewers till the finale are the dialogues and central characters’ chemistry. The lingo the youngsters in the film churn out impress the ears. Dialogues are well written.
The script by Anvita Dutt Guptan is what one should rave about. She is the one behind the dialogues as well. Music, composed by Raghu Dixit, is just about okay.
Although the movie has no big star but all the stars appear to be conversant with the acting department. Saqib Saleem is the central focus since he shows his class. Nishant Dahiya portrays the role brilliantly. Saba Azad is impressive and Tara D’Souza looks ravishing.
On the whole, Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge is targeted to youth and aptly fits to its subject matter.
Rating: 3/5
MOVIE NAME : Yeh Faasley
Casting : Anupam Kher, Pawan Malhotra, Seema Biswas, Kiran Kumar, Suhasini Muley, Satyajeet Sharma, Teena Desai
Director : Yogesh Mittal
Producer : Om Prakash Mittal
Music Director : Deepak Pandit
Genre : Suspense Thriller
STORY :
"Yeh Faasle" is the story of a girl, Arunima (played by Teena Desai) who is the only daughter of a renowed builder of town, 'Devender Devilal' (played by Anupam Kher). He loves his daughter a lot and hence has given her all the freedom and luxuries she wants. After some years of study, she returns home to find a will, written by her mother for her. This raises many questions in her mind. Then, she comes to know that her mother had died in a car accident at a very tender age of 28.
Arunima tries to go deep into the secrets of this will. The story turns and she finds it impossible to have faith on some points she discovers. Even Anupam Kher comes under her scanner. How she reveals the secrets of her mother's death and what happens in the attempt is the whole theme of "Yeh Faasle".
Star Cast Work : As always, Anupam Kher has been successful in playing his role perfectly and his perfect acting skills are clearly visible from his performance in the movie. There is nothing new in the story. Though, each and every actor has treated their roles well. Pawan Malhotra and Seema Biswas have acted far beyond expectations. Only that Teena was like expression-blank in her role of Arunima.
Treatment : Direction is not at all exceptional and that's why the movie starts to be boring after a while. To give twists, useless shapes have been given to the movie.
Music/ Cinematography/ Editing : Deepak Pandit's music score is average. Cinematography and post production editing could have been far better.
Why to see : Go watch it for Anupam Kher's flawless acting. The movie has been made keeping in mind a specific age group. You can watch it if you have a taste for Suspense Thrillers.
It is good that new comers are working in movies nowadays and acting like pros. Acting is brilliant in this movie. Each actor has played his part well and has done justice to his/her character.
