Kareena Kapoor is one of the highest paid Heroines from Bollywood and has just Katrina Kaif as real competition. The news is that Bebo as she is known among friends has started demanding an astronomical amount to sign on the dotted line for Projects coming her way.

Kareena Kapoor has been in the news ever since Aishwarya Rai Bachchan backed out from Madhur Bhandarkar’s dream Project, ‘Heroine’. It has been reported that Kareena Kapoor has asked the Film maker and the Producers UTV a fee of 6 crore plus a share of Profit as her fee for ‘Heroine’. The makers have no choice because Kareena Kapoor is the only actress who fits the role. Therefore it comes as no surprise that the Producers have agreed to pay Kareena Kapoor the amount demanded by her.

Bollywood has always considered ‘Heroines’ as arm candy and the payments to Heroines has be abysmally low than their male counterparts. Kareena Kapoor sets a new precedent with ‘Heroine’ and her competition may soon follow suit.

The Bachchan Bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan must be delighted at the Compliments and Best wishes that have been showered by thousands of fans across the globe after the news of her pregnancy got out. The pretty actress however was a disappointed at Film maker Madhur Bhandarkar’s comments that tried to put her in the dock about her non disclosure of being pregnant. Madhur Bhandarkar made his displeasure clear by stating that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had kept him in the dark about being pregnant before signing for his film ‘Heroine’.

The first schedule of the film ‘Heroine’ had already been shot and Madhur Bhandarkar was shocked to hear about Aishwarya Rai’s pregnancy which meant that the actress could not shoot certain sequences needed by Madhur Bhandarkar due to her pregnancy.

Amitabh Bachchan in an interview defended his bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan by stating 'Everybody knew that Aishwarya was married when she signed the film. So you mean to say that actors can't get married or have children? I don't think this can be a part of any contract that you cannot get married or have children if you working in a project,'

Though miffed with Madhur Bhandarkar comments in the media the Bachchan’s are not planning to take any further course of action and have chosen to keep quiet after clarifying their position.

Heroine’ is being produced by ‘UTV Movies’ and Bachchan said that the reports stating that the Production House had suffered losses to the tune of 18 crore due to Aishwarya’s withdrawal were completely false.

The superstar is also peeved at ‘UTV Movies’ not releasing ‘Shoebite’ , the movie that the actor did with them a long time ago.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has maintained a stoic silence over this issue but sources confirmed that she has not been paid any money for ‘Heroine

'Heroine' Script revamped for Aishwarya

'Heroine' Script revamped for Aishwarya

When Madhur Bhandarkar planned to make ‘Heroine’ he had Kareena Kapoor as a female lead in his mind. Hence, the script was drafted keeping in mind her image. But times changed and in today’s date, Kareena Kapoor is not a part of the project. Now this film is done by former Miss World and the Bachchan bahu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Now when this sensational beauty is going to essay the character of a heroine, entire script of the film of the film has been re-written.

Revealing more about the film after Cannes, Madhur said, “First of all it is not about Marilyn Monroe or Elizabeth Taylor or any other Hollywood or Bollywood actress any more. It is the story of one actress' internalized journey into stardom, the people that she meets, the experiences that she gathers.” He further added, "It isn't about the film industry. It's about the experiences of one actress. We've completely re-written the role to suit Aishwarya."

This movie of Madhur’s film as usual is realistic and based on a superstar’s life. As it is related to showbiz industry, the script is obviously, scandalous, glamorous, bold, shocking and emotional. Reportedly there was daring love making scenes that were meant for Kareena earlier. But the Bachchan bahu refused to do any such scene; hence love sequences had been deleted.

When asked Madhur about the same, he said, "There never were love scenes…not any that would need serious modification or anything. Too much has been said about the so-called love-making sequences. I never reacted because I wanted to get the script and project in place rather than killing the rumors and speculation."

The theme is refreshingly new – a cine star past her prime, but refusing to believe that she is no longer sought after. This powerful storyline has the potential to reach the box office at the hands of Madhur Bhandarkar, one of the top Bollywood directors today. And it needs nothing less than the best from an actor. Madhur, who has a penchant for realistic cinema, chooses her actors carefully.

Kareena Kapoor, was Madhur’s first choice for his movie titled ‘Heroine’, but she refused getting scared of the intimate scenes in the movie. So, the choice boiled down to either Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or Katrina Kaif and Ash pipped Katrina to the post. When Madhur met Aishwarya along with producer Siddharth  Roy Kapoor and narrated the story of ‘Heroine’, she was bowled over by it. She loved the subject and said yes. Now other modalities are being worked out. UTV is co-producing the film.

It is no secret that Madhur has always been keen to work with Aishwarya and for this film he even went out of the way to rework the script to suit her. However, he remains non-committal and maintains that he is taking a break after ‘Dil to Bachcha Hai ji’. Both Siddarth Roy Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai are also maintaining silence on this issue.
