Last week’s biggest release was Desi Boyz starring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Chittrangda Singh. The movie was being awaited hugely by the fans but what had happened to the masses that they did not turn out in those figures being expected prior to the release? Weird! Desi Boyz witnessed average opening in India.
The week one started with average business. Where Desi Boyz did the poor collections, Ranbir Kapoor starrer Rockstar that was doing good previously too dropped its business in Indian markets.
Desi Boyz made somewhat good collections in Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan markets. The first week’s collections for the movie are Rs. 25 crores.
So far there has not been seen any good reaction of the moviegoers towards the movie.
Other movies’ business is as follows:
| Film | Week | Weekly Net Gross | Cinemas | Total Net Gross | Status |
| Rockstar | 2 | 15,85,00,000 | 700 | 63,31,00,000 | Semi Hit |

| Shakal Pe Mat Jaa | 1 | 45,00,000 | 275 | 45,00,000 | Disaster |
The Dirty Picture opened this week and Balaji Telefilms this mammoth project witnessed the super duper opening all over the country. Vidya Balan has turned the biggest actress of Bollywood arena now after the good opening of the movie. The movie got what was being expected by the makers and the cast. The audience gave full support to the makers’ expectations. Desi Boyz and Rockstar will get tough competition now with The Dirty Picture that is all set to make the new records at the box office.
Rohit Dhawan is now a name which is prominent on the world of cinema. He is the son of the famed Bollywood filmmaker David Dhawan. Rohit has recently made his directorial debut with the successful flick, ‘Desi Boyz’. Now the guys has bigger reasons to smile – one is the success of Desi Boyz and the other is he is going to marry with his childhood friend.
Rohit is geared up to tie the knot in February 2012. He reluctantly said that he was going to walk down the aisle in February next year and when asked about the leading lady, he told that she was not from the world of cinema and her name was Jhanvi.
Rohit mentioned that all at his home talk about cinema all the time thus he wanted someone out of this field and Jhanvi was like a fresh breeze from the window. He uttered that he knew her for last seven years and soon they realized that they were made for each other.
The marriage according to Rohit would be an utter personal affair with minus media attention and industry insiders. Only his family and close friends would be there.
Currently Rohit is much busy with counting the bigger collections of the box office results of Desi Boyz and he is quite happy with the response the movie has been getting so far. David Dhawan is too happy with the instant success of the son and he wants him to do more successful projects in the days to come.
Well, it seems that Akshay Kumar happens to be the reason behind the Bollywood debut of the fashion designer Kunal Rawal. Prior to his working on Akshay Kumar in the flick, ‘Desi Boyz’, Kunal gave the style to Sonam Kapoor in the film, ‘Aisha’. It is being said that Akshay is the main reason behind Kunal’s break into the world of movies.
But the question is how Kunal got his break in movies by Akshay Kumar? This is what happened that in a scene in Desi Boyz, Akshay was required to throw his shirt on the ground. And when he did so, Kunal accidently picked it up (as he is much conscious and cautious about his designed clothes, he went ahead in grabbing the shirt. The whole unit knew this since it was planned but the designer got to know when all gave him claps on getting the scene done in an apt manner.
The whole crew laughed big and this embarrassed the designer. But one thing is certain that due to Akshay Kumar, Kunal got his Bollywood break.
Desi Boyz is being expected to hit the jackpot. Apparently a blockbuster, the film will be liked by the audiences. The promos and the storyline of the film say that the viewers will welcome the movie. If the movie is successful, both Akshay and John’a career will further move upwards.
Akshay is playing the main lead opposite Chitrangda whereas John enacts the leading man of the leggy beauty Deepika Padukone.
The upcoming action comic caper, ‘Desi Boyz’ is the production of Eros Entertainment that is slated for 25th November release.
Krishika Lulla, Vijay Ahuja and Jyoti Deshpande join hands to produce this flick, which is directed by Rohit Dhawan, who is the son of the famous Bollywood filmmaker David Dhawan. The movie stars the likes of Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Chitrangda Singh. The cameos have been done by Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra.
