Finally the wait is over, Shah Rukh Khan’s most ambitious project till date ‘Ra.One’ releases today with much oomph. This is the flick, the whole Hindi cinema industry can be proud of. This is the film, which truly is laced with all the ingredients of an international level project. Khan’s Ra.One is without any single doubt is a big magnum opus that would be remembered forever. The film will have its mention with bold characters in Indian cinema’s history.
A sci-fi flick Ra.One, from the very beginning, bowls the blood of the viewers in their veins getting them glued to the screens from the opening reels till the end. Not only it educates the viewers but also entertains and praises the Indian culture. One thing is quite predictable that from the very outset, the viewer knows that the crux of the movie revolves about how good overcomes the evil – good versus bad (which is often seen in the films).
Ra.One is about the virtual world of today’s young generation who is crazy about the technological advancements and video games.
Prateik (Armaan Verma) is the one guy who considers that the villain in a hero actually because he does not follow the rules – what he knows is a victory that comes from whatsoever way.
Shekhar Subramanium (Shah Rukh Khan) is the ham-fisted, nerdy game developer is the father of Prateik. Shekhar loves his son and always quotes him Mahatma Gandhi and the things like. The son does not impress by the quotes at all and reveals the generation and cultural gap between both of them.
Shekhar is quite disheartened for the damaged relation between him and son. He develops an indomitable Random Access One (Ra.One), which specialty is that it can take any form. He did so to please the son. He is not utterly convinced with his own creation thus he also goes for developing Good One (G.One) who may kill Ra.One if needs be.
The son gets much excited seeing the father’s creation. Prateik starts playing Ra.One using a screen name Lucifer. He manages to cross the level two of the game by provoking Ra.One. Shekhar and his team do not know that Ra.One can come out in the real world. Ra.One steps in the real world to kill Lucifer being a threat to Prateik’s life.
The concept of the games’ characters coming out into the real world has been taken from Hollywood flicks. Ra.One is out and out Shah Rukh Khan’s film.
The way he enacts the characters of Shekhar, Ra.One and G.One simply entice the souls.
Khan is the superhero of the movie. Apart from the marvelous and classically done acting of Shah Rukh Khan and his screen persona, the script is the life of the film written very skillfully and persuasively by the minds of Anubhav Sinha, Kanika Dhillon, Mushtaq Sheikh and David Benullo. Kanika and Niranjan Iyengar pen the dialogues dexterously.
The special appearances of Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra and Rajnikanth add values to the flick.
Shah Rukh Khan delivers his talents and mammoth experience of acting in this outing. His fan following will become double after this flick’s release. He is really a big superstar and that he shows in this venture. Kareena Kapoor is a big delight to watch. ArmanVerma is brilliant. Arjun Rampal does the job with finesse. Rest of the cast fits the bill.
The direction by Anubhav Sinha is splendid and creatively done. He executes the movie in such a manner that puts the viewers to the edge of their seats from the beginning till the end.
The music is a big success also. Chammak Challo has been making bigger waves already among the movie buffs. Vishal-Shekhar impresses with their composition. Sanjay Sharma’s editing is masterpiece.
Visual effects are no less a Hollywood flick. They grab the attention.
On the whole, Ro.One is a big entertainer. The film has a look, class and soul. It will break all the previous records of the movie business. A big blockbuster, Ra.One is a sure success in India and across the world.

M.F. Husain, fondly called the ‘Picasso of India’, is regarded as one of the best artists of India. This best-known artist of India died of a heart attack at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London at 2:30 am local time on Thursday. He was 96. Family sources informed PTI that he had been keeping in indifferent health for over a month.
President Pratibha Patil said his death "left a void in the world of art." Calling it ‘a national loss’, Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Prime minister of India, expresses his grief on death of Husain. The dearth theaters and legal cases over paintings have left M. F. Husain so upset that in recent years, artists and activists had lamented his inability to live in India.
Husain had left India way back in 2006. Besides London, he was also offered the citizenship of Qatar which he had readily accepted and hence divided his time between London and Qatar homes. Back in India, the activities and artists criticized the Indian Government for failing to take stringent actions to bring Mr. Husain back in India.
Right-wing groups continued to wreck exhibitions that displayed Husain’s work after Mr. Husain moved abroad. Mr. Husain repetitively articulated a longing to return to India. "My heart will always be in India...it is my beloved land," he said in an interview to NDTV in March last year. "I never felt I was betrayed," he said of India, stressing that he was proud of India's democracy.”
He was among the earliest Indian painters to command huge prices at international auctions. Considering Madhuri Dixit, an Indian Bollywood actress, his muse he has often directed films also. In 1967, Husain's first film, Through the Eyes of a Painter, won a ‘Golden Bear’ at the Berlin Film Festival.
Her fascination for Madhuri was an impetus to make ‘Gaja Gamini’ (a Bollywood Film) with her. In addition to this, Madhuri was also the subject of his paintings which he titled ‘Fida’. Besides, he also made a film with Tabu, titled Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities.
Honored with the prestigious awards of Padma Shree, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan, Mr. Husain's ‘Battle of Ganga and Jamuna: Mahabharata 12’, fetched USD 1.6 million in 2008, setting a world record at Christie's South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art sale.
June 7th would see ‘Housefull 2’ flagging off in residential suburb on the outskirts of London. Akshay would be showing some daring acts once again for his upcoming film. He is gearing himself up for dropping down in the midst of the locals from the skies literally. This ‘Khiladi Kumar’ is doing such daring stunts in his reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi Torchaar also. Earlier also he has done many stunts that gave goose bumps to the onlookers. Preparing himself for the other adventure packed action affair, he will be taking free-fall tests to parachute into the opening scene of the much-anticipated sequel of ‘Housefull’.
Director Sajid Khan reveals, "The scene is integral to the story and not just a publicity gimmick. We've kept it strictly under wraps because with six cameras stationed on the sets, we want to capture people's reactions as Akshay jumps down from the heavens above.”
Sajid confesses that to get permission for ‘live’ shoot took a lot a time but as this sequence was a part of the screenplay since its initial stages, it could not be deleted. To shoot the scene excellenty and hassle freely the production team got into the act well in advance and all the paperwork is in order. "Akshay has never done anything like this before and he's really excited. I'm cool because I know the greatest stuntman in the country will pull off the shot effectively," Sajid says. "I couldn't have asked for a better first shot."
Produced by Sajid Nandidawala, Housefull 2, also stars John Abraham, Shreyas Talpade, Mithun Chakraborty, Jacqueline Fernandes and Johnny Lever among others. It should wrap up by December or January 2012 and will be targeting a next summer release.
Last evening was special for the entire cast and crew of ‘Delhi Belly’. The team got one more chance to celebrate after the success of the hit number ‘Bhaag D.K. Bose’. On Friday evening the crew members along with some invitees got together to cheer the bash of the sensational song ruling chartbusters these days. Speculations were hot that there would be an added incentive of announcing the name of the actess who has been picked to do an item number in Imran Khan starrer ‘Delhi Belly’.
A close source form the film itself reveals, "Three prominent names that have been making rounds so far are that of Katrina Kaif, Malaika Arora and Deepika Padukone. On the other hand, cine goers have also thrown around names like Kareena Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Sharma amongst others. Whether the chosen one would be one of them or someone else would be known to one and all this evening."
This event was held in Juhu at Vie Lounge and was expectedly a spectacular event. However, not gracing the show for some professional reasons was Aamir Khan who was busy shooting an untitled film by Reema Kagti in Pondicherry. But his better half, Kiran Rao, took active part in the event to compensate for his absence.
An insider from the crew of the film has already said, "Kiran along with people from UTV would be making the announcement. She has cut short her Europe holidays just in order to be there for Imran and his film. Vir Das and Kunal Roy Kapur would be there at the event as well along with director Abhinay Deo and it is pretty much expected that they would be having fun all over again with 'Bhaag DK Bose' blazing away on a continuous note."
You guys just wait for the next update on this story from our end.
How excited can one be with one’s maiden venture, this Dia Mirza has shown recently for which she had to be scolded by Zayed Khan. Yes guys! Actor turned producer Dia Mirza got so involved in the making of her debuting production venture of ‘Love, Breakups, Zindagi’ that her partner Zayed had to pacify her by getting himself heated.
"I swept floors. I brought half of the things from my own house. For me, producing a film was not just about bringing in funds, making schedules and dealing with numbers, it was about realizing the imagery that we all had in our mind. There is a certain level of involvement that I feel a producer needs to have to give the film that push it needs," Dia reported to a daily tabloid.
Worth mentioning here is that Zayed and Diya Mirza have launched a production house in collaboration with Sahil Sangha. They have named their production house ‘Bornfree’ and are presently too busy shooting for their film under the banner. Their movie ‘Love, Breakups, Zindagi’ is being directed by Sangha and is featuring Dia and Zayed.
The former Miss Asia Pacific reported, “Zayed scolded me once on the sets. I was behaving as if guests have come to my house. So I was taking care of smallest of things myself. Zayed was like you are an actor also, so you just need to calm down and relax and take a seat when your shot is over.”
So isn’t she hurt that Zayed shouted at her. "It was a healthy fight and I'm glad that we had it. He was scolding me because he was looking out for me and that's what you expect from your partner, to care for you, to account for you," she added.
Hmm…Diya seems you are overexcited about the film…
Generally it is thought it is a common trend in Bollywood to pick any hit film form Hollywood and render a remake of it’s in a desi style. These days rumors are hot that Sanjay Dutt’s and Rupali Aum Entertainment Production’s next film titled ‘Rascals’ is a remake of DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS. Directed by the ace comedy director, David Dhawan, this movie features Hollywood stars Steve Martin and Michael Caine who play two thugs in the movie who make an attempt to work together which fails despondently.
A spokesperson from David’s camp has rubbished the rumors that their film is inspired by a Hollywood film. However, he confirms that the film is definitely about two muggers, played by Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt.
"Yes, the film is based on two conmen but the story is our own brainchild. It has no relevance to the Hollywood film DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS that it is being compared with and it is baseless to relate the two movies. This is not the first time that a movie is based on two thieves," the source close to the film clarified.
Audience love David’s film that are based on conmen. His earlier films including BADE MIYAN CHOTTE MIYAN, JODI NO.1 and EK AUR EK GYARAH which are woven around thugs have proved a super success at the box office. His new venture may be expected to be a big hit on screens as the comic timings of Ajay and Sanjay are remarkable.
