STORY :
After the movies like Jab We Met, Tanu Weds Manu, there have been floods of the road side movies. Roaming in many cities, different characters, fast changing lifestyles and this film is done with. However, there is no love story in CHALO DILLI, which might disinterest many people. But, Vinay Pathak and Lara Dutta's chemistry together and their mutual fun gives you more entertainment than the story of this film. There is nothing as a theme in this movie. Very normal and seen many a times like story. A rich girl who is forced to travel with a middle class shopkeeper from Jaipur to Delhi. The only theme in it is this journey they take together and the twists they face.
STORY TREATMENT :
The storyline is weak in many places of this film. Some shots and scenes seem to be forcefully augmented just to increase the length of the film. However, the film starts slow but then grips you later. As a brat richie, Lara has failed a lot in some places but she gives competition to a skilled actor as Vinay Pathak. Till you finish watching the film, you will fall in love with the acting. Yana Gupta fails to impress much with her item number. Akshay Kumar shows up as a guest and has played his part well.
DIRECTION :
Young director, Shashant Shah shows the grip on his skills. If some boring scenes are left out, Shashant has knit a new story on old theme with better treatment.
MUSIC/CINEMATOGRAPHY/EDITING :
Laila o Laila, the old song, is already under copyright laws case. Even after three music directors, there are no songs to remember later.
WHY TO SEE :
Vinay Pathak's BHEJA FRY type of acting, Rajasthan's exotic locations, Lara's never seen before role are some factors for which you can rely on it for your weekend entertainment.
