Film Critic: Goher Iqbal Punn
Director: Deepak Tanwar
Cast: Omkar Das Manikpuri, Ehsaan Qureshi and Sunil Pal
Deepak Tanwar directs the laugh-riot ‘Ab Hoga Dharna Unlimited’ that stars Omkar Das Manikpuri, Ehsaan Qureshi and Sunil Pal. The film is a low-budget saga that talks about an opposition leader Gopinath who asks Baba Lakshman Dev to do a dharna to bring the government down. Will he succeed in his plans is what forms the story.
The direction has nothing to rave big about. It is not potentially great or has sparkles which attract the viewers. The audience finds nothing in the execution that they get allured with. The viewers cannot sit till the end on their seats since the movie is big boring.
The plot is lackluster. This type of comic capers or drama (whatever you name it) flicks we have seen in the past many a time. But the viewer can nonetheless watch it on celluloid once again provided that the content and good direction along with good performances are there. Thus when the film lacks in all, how can you take your precious time and money out for a mundane product?
Dharanas were very well operative and workables in the past, though work even today as well but in past they were in heavy quantity, but today instead of dharnas people go for protests and take advantage of the media to get their works done.
Avsarvadi Party leader Gopinath (Gunaji) approaches Baba Lakshaman Dev (Sunil Pal) to begin a dharna against the serving government since it is filled with corruption and due to this, country is suffering inflation. Gopinath’s actual target is to put the government down from the seat. Baba’s sidekick (Ehsaan Qureshi) names a price to opposition that it is ready to pay. In the midst, from rural India Satya (Manikpuri) approaches Baba to raise the awareness of pastoral poverty. What happens next is better to watch on screen.
The script carries many holes and flaws. Execution is poor. Viewers start yawning in theaters. Cinematography, editing and background score – all is mundane.
Ehsaan Qureshi does a fine job. Sunil Pal enacts well. Rest of the cast is pretty below average.
On the whole, Ab Hoga Dharna Unlimited is a waste of time and money.
