Actress Aishwarya Rai and Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman were felicitated with the top awards in the twelfth FICCI frames meet, which concluded on Friday. Hugh Jackman was given the "FICCI Frames Excellence International Honor". He is known for his work in the "X Man" series and also in the movies like "Kate and Leopold", "Van Helsing", "The Prestige" and "Australia".
Aishwarya Rai was given the "Decade of Global Achievement" award for her contribution in the Hindi cinema. While Vidya Balan was given the best actress for "Ishqiya", Shah Rukh Khan became the best actor for "My Name Is Khan", for which the best director was given to Karan Johar.
Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha played their roles in Dabangg and the movie got the best film of the year and also the best music of the year awards. Sonakshi Sinha bagged the best newcomer(female) award.
The best newcomer(male) was given to Ranveer Singh for his role in "Band Bajaa Baarat" and Maneesh Sharma got the best director award.
According to FICCI entertainment committee head Yash Chopra, "In India, the entertainment sector is growing and we feel proud to present the awards to the deserved people of entertainment and the business sectors."Read also
