Another Oscar might be on way for the Bollywood fans and the Bollywood industry since Dam 999 may do so for the Indians this year. A R Rahman, the maestro and the Oscar winner music composer has bigger hopes about Dam 999’s winning the Oscars this year at the 84th Academy Awards.
Dam 999 may win the nominations in various categories such as Best Film and Best Original Song. Rahman says in an interview that he is super excited after learning the news about Dam 999’s Oscar route. He says that he wants some other Indian to win the Oscar for India. He was talking to the reporters at the music launch of Ek Deewana Tha.
It has been learnt that Dam 999 is among 265 movies fighting for the nominations of Best Movie at the Academy Awards. In addition to this, three of the film’s songs are already shortlisted among 39 other songs which are now up for the nominations for the upcoming Original Category for Song. The three numbers from the film which are all set for the final nominations include – Dakkanaga Dugu Dugu, Dam 999 Theme and Mujhe Chhod Ke.
Rahman had bagged the Oscar for the Indians for the film Slumdog Millionaire in 2009 at the 81s Academy Awards. Now he is pretty confident for Dam 999’s winning of the Oscars for the Indians. Let’s see what happens at the Oscars night, as all the Indians are now praying for the movie to get them the Oscar trophy like Rahman had won.
